Mother of 3-year-old Ellie Lorenzo confirms death of her daughter after missing person report; girl’s father found dead in San Francisco

FREMONT, Calif. (KGO) – The mother of missing three-year-old Ellie Lorenzo confirmed her death in a statement on Saturday.

According to police, Ellie’s body was found in San Jose.

Her mother Chrystal Obi called Ellie “the most charming, funniest and smartest” girl in a statement.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear, sweet Ellie. She was the most adorable, funniest, smartest and kindest little girl. Ellie loved dancing and meeting new people. She made friends so easily and spread so much joy everywhere she went. We will remember her for her bright and curious mind, her big smile and her warm, loving heart. Ellie’s life was filled with people who loved her so much and will miss her beyond words. We want to express our gratitude to the entire community for their support in finding Ellie.”

Early Saturday, Fremont authorities were notified by San Jose police that a girl resembling Ellie was found dead in San Jose.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Fremont police are trying to find missing 3-year-old Ellie Lorenzo, whose father died Friday.

According to authorities, Ellie was last seen with her father at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Casa Arroyo Apartments on Rancho Arroyo Parkway in Fremont.

According to her mother, the three-year-old was supposed to be returned Friday evening due to a custody agreement, but she was told that the girl’s father had been found dead in a nearby town and Ellie was missing.
