Taylor Swift made two big changes to her Eras tour outfits last night, and fans are now speculating why the singer introduced two new looks to her tour wardrobe
Taylor Swift shocked her fans last night in Milan when she made two big changes to her outfits for the Eras Tour.
The hitmaker, 34, took to the stage in Italy last night for her first of two nights in the fashion capital. And fans were surprised when Taylor wore two brand new outfits for two different sets during her performance on the night that has seen speculation of a big announcement.
When performing Fearless, Taylor usually wears a short gold dress, a long gold dress, a long silver dress or a black and silver dress. But in Milan, Taylor appeared on the first night of two shows in a chevron-style dress with tiger stripes, leaving her fans open-mouthed.
Fans then sat on the edge of their seats for the rest of the show, wondering what else might be new, but nothing emerged until the TTPD set. Taylor usually appears on this set in a beautiful white Vivienne Westwood corset-style dress with “I love you, it’s ruining my life” scrawled across it, but last night it was a completely different dress.
For The Tortured Poets Department’s set on July 13, Taylor rocked her usual white Vivienne Westwood corset dress, but instead of the usual Fortnight lyrics, this time it had “Who’s afraid of me? You should be” scrawled on it.
Fans were quick to react to the two new dresses, with one responding to the new Fearless dress by commenting to X, “Oh my god new rep style dress and blue/blue, my theory that she’s going to release a double album with Taylor Swift and Reputation is starting to come true,” also referring to her wearing all blue on the 1989 set.
Another added: “THE NEW DRESS IS SO CUTE LOOKS A BIT LIKE A PINWHEEL.” And a third wrote: “OK THE NEW FEARLESS DRESS THAT’S REPUTATION CODED HMM WHAT WOULD TAYLOR DO WHEN SHE WEARS A NEW REP CODED DRESS ON EVERY SHOW FOR AN ERA AND FINALLY WEARS A NEW DRESS FOR THE REPUTATION ERA AND ANNOUNCES REPUTATION TV!?!? CLOWNS WALK WITH ME.”
Reacting to the TTPD dress, one person said, “Taylor’s new dress says ‘who’s afraid of me?’ because we SHOULD fear her and she wants us to know that, like she has such a stranglehold on us it’s insane.” While a second person said, “WE ARE AFRAID OF HER.” And a third wrote, “I’m afraid Rep TV is coming, I’m just clowning around.”
Someone else then noticed that Taylor’s gloves were different for the TTPD set. She usually wears plain black or white gloves, but in London she introduced black sequined gloves. But last night in Milan she wore white and silver sequined gloves.
Previously, there had been intense speculation about a possible announcement on July 13. Many were convinced that Taylor would announce “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” or release a music video for “I Can Do it With A Broken Heart” – the next single from her latest album.
