Taylor’s Sausage Hot Landjaeger recalled due to undeclared soy

Taylor’s Sausage Hot Landjaeger is being recalled because it contains soy, one of the top nine food allergens, which is not listed on the product label as required. For people with a soy allergy, consumption of this product may result in a severe reaction. To date, the company has not received any confirmed reports of allergic reactions associated with consumption of this product. The recalling company is Taylor’s Sausage of Cave Junction, Oregon.

The shelf-stable, ready-to-eat Landjaeger sausages were manufactured on December 8, 2023 and packaged on December 19, 2023. The recalled item is vacuum-packed 14.4-ounce packages of 12 Taylor’s Sausage Hot Landjaeger. The batch code for this product is 23342-2 and the best-before date stamped on the back of the product packaging is 12 8 25.

The sausage bears the establishment number EST. 6172, which is stamped into the USDA inspection mark. The sausages were shipped to retail locations in the states of California and Oregon.

The problem was discovered during routine inspections at the FSIS plant. Staff found that soy was used as an ingredient even though it was not listed on the finished product label.

Please check your pantry and refrigerator to see if you have purchased this item. If so and you are intolerant to soya, do not eat it. You can throw the sausages in a safe bin or return them to the store where you purchased them and receive a full refund.
