Lizzo introduces a new line of maxi dresses for her shapewear brand Yitty.

It’s about damn time Lizzo’s shapewear line Yitty released a line of body-sculpting maxi dresses.

On Instagram, the singer presented the dresses in different colors, but emphasized: “There is no piece of clothing that will change you permanently,” she wrote.

“Yes, I know I’m fat. I know I have a belly,” Lizzo stressed. “Wear what feels good.”

The new dresses, which come in sizes XS to 6X, are the latest offering from the singer’s popular shapewear line Yitty, which launched last year.

“There is a super tear-resistant material in the abdominal area,” said the 35-year-old singer, pulling out the material to show how it snaps back into place.

“Go as low as you want, baby,” the “Special” singer added, beginning to make a slit in the dress to show how it stretches.

The singer (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) showcased the maxi dress in blue, pink, tan and the “iconic” black – which she said “actually turns out to be my favorite color” – and showcased the “sexy silhouette that this dress gives me.”

Still, she wanted to keep an important point of her ongoing message of body positivity in mind for her fans.

“If you don’t take anything with you today, just wear whatever you want,” she said. “Enjoy your body.”

And as for the dresses: “You can wear it under something. It’s so light and wearable. Or it can be the star. You can wear it with Timberlands and say, ‘What’s up?’ And some gold hoop earrings.”

“Choose your own adventure,” she said. “This is your life.”

Lizzo launched the shapewear brand last year, mainly because “I was sick of seeing this sad, constricting shapewear that literally no one wanted to wear. I had an epiphany like, ‘Who can actually do anything about this?’ I decided to take on the challenge of empowering women to feel good again without regrets,” Lizzo said in a statement.

Yitty – her childhood nickname – was created in part because “I felt like I was constantly hearing on TV and in magazines that my body wasn’t good enough. And in order to be considered ‘acceptable,’ I had to inflict pain on it to conform to an ideal of beauty. That’s why I’ve been wearing shapewear for a long time, maybe since I was in fifth or sixth grade,” she said.

And although the singer is on a journey to “holistic health,” she is not concerned with losing weight, although that is a side effect of her increased exercise.

“Losing weight is part of it, but I’m not trying to escape the feeling of being fat.”

“I’m very much concerned with not trying to escape obesity,” she stressed. “And it’s very damn important.”
