Prince Charles and Camilla were criticized for their reaction to an Inuit throat singing performance during their trip to Canada.

The royal couple were in Canada to celebrate the 150th anniversary and were treated to a show in their honour in Iqaluit, Canada’s Arctic capital.

However, the Duchess of Cornwall and her husband could not hold back their laughter and burst into giggles while watching the traditional duet.

The performance is known to the Inuit as Katajjaq and usually consists of a duet between two women.

The ladies face each other and fight to see who can last the longest by making rhythmic throat noises.

The performance usually only ends when one of the women runs out of breath, laughs or skips a beat.

And even though each performance only lasts about three minutes, it seems as though Camilla and Charles were unable to maintain their composure for the duration of the fight.

Camilla, wearing a mint green coat and floral headscarf, was the first to show signs of weakness and looked over at Charles to gauge his reaction.

And like two brave teenagers, they both burst into laughter.

While they may have enjoyed the performance, others on Twitter found their attitude toward the singers “uneducated and disrespectful.”

“Ugh Prince Charles and Camilla laughing during Inuit throat singing. How #notnoble of you,” one person said.

“You are so rude to laugh at a folk singing performance. Pathetic,” said another person.

Others thought the whole thing was just a joke and praised the royals for their sense of humor.

“Okay, the footage of Prince Charles and Camilla giggling in Canada is priceless,” one person said.

“It’s hilarious that Camilla and Charles are laughing at Inuit throat singers,” wrote another Twitter user.
