Why Taylor Swift won’t have her 4th of July party in Rhode Island this year

Miss Americana will not be sending a who’s who list of celebrities to Rhode Island on July 4th.

Taylor Swift’s touring schedule this year prevents her from hosting her iconic Fourth of July Independence Day party at her seaside mansion in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

The 34-year-old star is in the middle of the European leg of her tour. She will perform three shows at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam from July 4-6. Swift will then have a short break between those shows before heading to Zurich, Switzerland for shows on July 9-10.

The “So High School” singer first hosted the party at her Westerly enclave in 2013, shortly after purchasing the home. Over the years, Swift’s “Taymerica” has included a giant water slide, plenty of beach fun and, of course, iconic group photos with the musician and her friends.

Celebrity guests at the event over the years have included close friends such as Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne and many more.

Swift stopped posting publicly about her Fourth of July party after 2016, when she Loki Actor Tom Hiddleston. Hiddleston, now 43, famously wore a tank top with the words “I (heart) TS” in the water with Swift.

After a seven-year hiatus, the “Lavender Haze” singer reposted her Independence Day celebrations on Instagram on July 7, 2023.

Last year, Swift hosted the belated Fourth of July celebration in Watch Hill during a break from the North American leg of the Eras Tour. The celebration was a more intimate gathering than in previous years and included her friends Selena Gomez, Este, Danielle and Alana Haim, Ashley Avignone and Sydney Ness.

“Belated Happy Independence Day from the independent girls in your neighborhood,” Swift wrote in her caption on Instagram.

Swift also posted several Polaroid shots with the group from her home and added a few solo photos with Gomez.

During the party, the “Karma” singer changed her outfit frequently and wore, among other things, a red bikini, a yellow summer dress and a strapless dress.

Swift’s next Eras Tour show will take place on June 21 at Wembley Stadium in London.
