When Secret Service agents heard the gunshots, they rushed to Trump’s protection, surrounding him on the podium and escorting him off the stage.

Two armed officers were seen aiming at the gunman after the shooting. The attacker was later arrested and subdued by Secret Service agents, but his identity and motive remained unclear.

The incident occurred shortly after Trump began speaking at his final campaign rally. Trump, 78, visibly reacted to the shot, clutching his right ear, where blood was soon seen. Despite his injury, Trump continued to salute the crowd and repeatedly raised his fist while being shielded by security guards, sparking a now-iconic scene.

“I was hit by a bullet that grazed the top of my right ear,” Trump later recounted on Truth Social. “I immediately sensed something was wrong when I heard gunshots and felt the bullet pierce my skin,” he recounted.
