This is what “Leave Britney Alone” guy Chris Crocker looks like now

Remember the early days of YouTube when we were told to stop being so heavy on Britney Spears?

Back when viral videos were still rare, a young man named Chris Crocker captured the internet with his emotional plea to give the pop star some space after her public breakdown.

It’s been nine years since the video first hit the internet, and in all that time, Crocker has become virtually unrecognizable.

But in 2013, Crocker wasn’t a big fan of the newfound attention, going so far as to say he felt “insulted” by it.

“The most annoying thing is the guys I find attractive who say, ‘Oh my God, you’re so hot now,'” he told the HuffingtonPost“It’s like, ‘Okay?’ They need to be able to see the whole picture of me – not just half of me.”

Crocker, who claims his reaction to the media’s treatment of Britney was authentic, has since released an EP, modeled for American Apparel and acted in several films.

And a few months ago he made internet history when he deleted his YouTube channel.

However, if you feel like taking a trip down memory lane, the original “Leave Britney Alone!” video has been re-uploaded to the video-sharing website.
