Gospel singer Monique shows interest in acting

Gospel singer, Temitope Monique, aka Monique, has said she would not mind getting into the movie industry provided she gets decent roles. Although she is known for her musical talent, she recently posted a video of what looks like a movie set from when she was a student at the University of Lagos.

she said Sunday Scoop, “Acting is something I’d like to try, provided I get decent roles. Even in our music videos, we act a lot as artists, because you might want to portray a message in a song in a certain way and end up doing it yourself.”

Monique further explained that she has been running her NGOs for the past three years out of a desire to give back to society.

She said, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, I started giving gifts on Instagram to support people who were going through a lot and couldn’t put food on the table. After the pandemic, one day I went to the market and saw very old women carrying heavy loads for others for little money. Most of them are widows and struggling. That’s when I started the initiative and registered my NGOs— Molawal Empowerment Foundation, And Monique Gospel Ministry; who care for widows, the elderly and the needy.

“I also registered Molawal Foundation for girls because I see how some girls struggle to survive in society without slipping into immorality.”

She added that her latest single titled Hello Babawas her way of showing her gratitude to God.
