“Like so many Oregonians and Americans, I am devastated and deeply disturbed by the senseless act of violence that shed innocent blood in Pennsylvania today. Political violence in any form is reprehensible and uniquely un-American. HELFRICH STATEMENT ON THE ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION OF PRESIDENT TRUMP

SALEM, Arch. – “Our prayers are with President Trump. Democrats must not only condemn this despicable act of violence, they must also consider how their overly partisan rhetoric about false ‘threats to democracy’ contributed to it,” Helfrich said. “We settle disputes in this country with our voices, not violence.”

Leader Daniel Bonham condemns political violence and calls for unity after the assassination of President Trump

SALEM, Ore. – Republican Senate Leader Daniel Bonham (R-The Dalles) issued a statement today condemning the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald J. Trump.

“Today we should all be reminded that violence has absolutely no place in our political discourse. It threatens our country and the principles on which it was built. This violent attack is not just an attack on an individual, but on our shared values. This moment goes beyond political affiliations and ideologies,” said Leader Bonham.

Bonham called for bipartisan unity in the face of such threats and urged all Oregonians to join together in condemning this act. “Let us fulfill our commitment to preserve the integrity of our republic and ensure that it remains a beacon of liberty and justice for all. As Americans, we must stand united against any form of violence or intimidation.”

“We are praying with President Trump and his family during this difficult time. We also extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the families of those who lost their lives in this heinous attack.”
