“Gridiron” Chris Eaton moves to Sports360az

A note from Sports360az CEO Brad Cesmat

“Gridiron” Chris Eaton joins Sports360az as a contributor to our platforms. I first met Chris on the sidelines at Casteel High School a few years ago, but I knew his work and reputation through my teammates Eric Sorenson and Jordan Hamm and others who spoke so highly of him as a person and his humility. Chris’ Friday night/Saturday morning manual scoreboard is brilliant! His context of what happened, when it happened, how it happened, who made it happen and what will happen makes Chris a must follow, listen, read and watch. I asked Chris for some thoughts on joining Sports360az and he sent me this…

Chris Eaton grew up in the Valley (Horizon graduate) and got renewed energy for high school football in 2005 when he was “band dad” for his daughter at North Canyon (5A-II champions that year!). After she moved out and went to college, he made it a hobby to follow and cover high school football in Arizona, focusing on the 6A and 5A conferences. In 2009, he started the (now defunct) website Gridiron Arizona and covered games, teams and athletes there. In 2017, he shifted his activities to work with Ralph Amsden and a few others at Arizona Varsity. For the past 7 years, he has been a regular on the Tuesday night show Chilly 2-piece on Twitter. For the past 10 years, he has covered high school recruiting and tracked all offers and commitments for players across the state of Arizona (434 college recruits for the class of 1924!). He is excited to be part of this “third project” and work with the guys and gals at Sports360AZ, whose TV programs and other online content he has long followed. Chris lives in North Phoenix with his wife Susan and their two cats.
