Princess Kate reveals Prince George is a fan of a major British rock band in a “very sweet” conversation with the lead singer

Prince George became a fan of the rock band Queen – when they performed for his great-grandmother.

His mother Kate said the young royal, now ten years old, has fond memories of the rock band’s performance at the 2022 concert.

However, he was unclear as to who was the singer and who was the guitarist, she added.

Guitarist Brian May, 76, drummer Roger Taylor, 74, and American singer Adam Lambert, 42, opened with their hit “We Will Rock You” in front of Buckingham Palace as the late Queen Elizabeth celebrated her 70th anniversary on the throne.

Adam, who replaced Freddie Mercury, learned of the royal new signing from the group’s fan base when he met the Princess of Wales at last year’s Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.

He said: “It was a great honour. I got to meet Princess Kate, which was fabulous. She was absolutely lovely and easy-going. Earth and charming.

“She said her son remembered the performance with the Queen at the Palace for the Platinum Jubilee two years earlier.

“She was like, ‘Oh, is Adam going to play his guitar?’.

“She said, ‘I think he was confused about who was playing guitar and who was who, but he remembered who you were.’ I thought, ‘Oh, that’s sweet.'”

Kate probably meant George, who turns eight in 2022.

Adam, whose EP Afters is released next Week, said of her: “You could see that she really wanted to take a second to say thank you.”
