Three-star WR Phillip Wright transfers to Michigan in 2025

Ron Bellamy returned to his home state of Louisiana to sign the Michigan Wolverines’ second wide receiver for the class of 2025 and received a verbal commitment from three-star player Phillip Wright on Friday.

Wright chose the Wolverines over his other two finalists, Georgia and LSU.

Bellamy extended his offer to Wright in November. He made an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor in April for the annual spring game and made his official visit the weekend of June 14.

The 6’1″, 165-pound athlete is a multi-sport athlete at Destrehan High School, as Wright is also a speedster in track and field. According to his Hudl page, he has a 100-meter dash time of 10.45 seconds and a 40-yard dash time of 4.39 seconds. He was also used in the return game for his high school football team.

In addition to his three finalists, Wright also had offers from Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Baylor, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska and more. Not bad for the No. 541 overall prospect in 247Sports’ rankings.

The Wolverines are now at 16 pledges in their 2025 recruiting class. Wright is the second wide receiver to commit to Michigan, joining four-star Jacob Washington, who committed last month. He is also the third player from the state of Louisiana to commit to the Wolverines, joining four-star running back Jasper Parker and the aforementioned Washington.
