Fans of The 1% Club were not happy on Saturday (July 13) and were quick to criticize the show when they noticed that the episode was not new.
ITV viewers were left fuming in front of their televisions on Saturday night after a repeat episode of The 1% Club was broadcast.
Comedy legend Lee Mack’s popular quiz show was back at the weekend with another episode in which contestants were asked a series of questions designed to test their logic.
100 players took part in the studio, the number of which was gradually reduced as the difficulty of the questions increased.
But while some TV viewers enjoyed taking part in the quiz from the comfort of their own home, others pointed out that ITV had shown the episode before. In fact, it looks like it may have first aired in 2022.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, some fans shared their anger. One viewer said: “Tonight on @ITV with an episode of the 1% Club from 2022. Cheap TV!! (sic)
Another wrote: “I thought I was doing really well in the 1% club, doing everything right so far… Anyway, it’s a repeat!” (sic)
A third added: “I’m flying in the 1% club tonight but I just realised it’s a shitty repeat (laughing emoji).” (sic)
But despite some negative reactions, others were still happy to answer the questions. One fan shared: “Getting a 5% question right on the 1% Club is an incredible confidence boost. At this point, no one can convince me I’m not a genius.”
Another said: “Just answered the last question on the 1% Club correctly. Call me a genius.” And a third repeated: “Fuckin’ rocked the 1% Club tonight. Get me there!” (sic)
During the show, contestant Sarah was the last woman standing after defeating her competitors, but now she was faced with a big decision.
Lee asked her if she wanted to answer one more question for the chance to win £90,000, or if she wanted to leave with £10,000 in her pocket.
Sarah hesitated at first, but then decided to walk away with the $10,000.
Despite the studio audience encouraging her to go for the big money, Sarah made the right choice as she didn’t know the answer to the £90,000 question.
The 1% Club airs on Saturday evenings on ITV and ITVX.
