Draymond Green selects an interesting current NBA player he would like to work with

The Golden State Warriors have been the best team in the NBA over the last decade, winning four titles during that time. Golden State used strong drafts to build the core of the team with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

Thompson left the Warriors earlier this offseason, but Curry and Green are staying. Green signed a four-year deal with the Warriors last offseason, and Curry’s current contract has two years left, including next season.

But with Thompson’s departure, there is the possibility of a complete dissolution of the group. Golden State will do whatever it takes to keep Curry, but they could eventually decide to trade Green. While he was the anchor of the team’s culture and defense, he no longer brings the same offensive game he once did. It’s unlikely the team will part ways with him, but anything is possible.

Green caused quite a stir during the ESPYs when he was asked which NBA player he would like to play alongside. His answer came as no surprise, but he called out Los Angeles Lakers All-Star forward LeBron James.

Green and James have been friends for years, even after all the battles the two players went through against each other in the NBA Finals.

It’s about mutual respect between the two men and the idea of them playing together is interesting. James will be retiring soon in the next few years so the clock is ticking if the two ever play together.

There was brief talk last offseason of Green joining the Lakers before he decided to stay with the Warriors. For the two sides to come together, James would have to force his way to Golden State, which is unlikely since he just re-signed with the Lakers. Alternatively, Green would have to ask the Warriors to move him to Los Angeles. But like James, Green just signed a brand new contract last summer. While that pairing would be fun to watch, especially given the competitive spirit of both players, it’s pretty much a fever dream at this point.

However, nothing is impossible for James. Although he will likely spend his final years with the Purple and Gold, the idea of teaming up with Green and Curry in his final season could be interesting for him. It would give the four-time All-Star a chance to win another NBA title, and James has spoken about wanting to play with Curry. In fact, the two are playing together for Team USA this summer, and James posts about the duo on social media. James joining the Warriors would be a dream for many NBA fans, but for now, it’s all just hearsay.
