Oregon-based Taylor’s Sausage has issued a recall for approximately 74 pounds of its ready-to-eat Landjäger sausage products.

Undeclared allergens and mislabeling have raised concerns with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, which announced the recall in a press release Saturday. The affected product contains soy, a common allergen that was not listed on the product label.

The recall involves 14.4 oz. vacuum-packed packages of “TAYLOR’S Sausage Hot LANDJAEGER” with lot number “23342-2” and a best before date of December 8, 2025, as indicated on the back of the package. The product, manufactured on December 8, 2023 and packaged on December 19, was distributed to retail locations in Oregon and California.

The problem was discovered during routine inspections at the FSIS plant when staff noticed that soy was used as an ingredient but was not listed on the label of the finished product, the U.S. Department of Agriculture press release said.

As of Saturday, there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions associated with consumption of these products, but consumers concerned about possible illness were advised to contact a healthcare professional.

The FSIS urged consumers who purchased the affected sausages to either dispose of them or return them to where they were purchased.

In accordance with its standard protocol, FSIS planned to conduct recall effectiveness checks to ensure that Taylor’s Sausage, Inc. notified its customers of the recall and removed the product from stores.
