Because nature will blow your mind this October
The late Chris Potter was named as the local artist featured on this year’s official NatureTrack Film Festival (NTFF) poster at a special event on Thursday.
This year’s NTFF poster features artwork by the late renowned local artist Chris Potter and a portrait of “Potters Point,” the cliff recently renamed by the City of Goleta in honor of Potter.
The poster was unveiled by Potter’s wife, Julie Beaumont Potter, along with NTFF Executive Director Gareth Kelly and notable VIPs from the Goleta community.
“Chris and I have always loved supporting local nonprofits,” said Beaumont Potter. “When the NatureTrack Film Festival contacted me, it was an honor that they used the portrait of Chris’ favorite place for their poster. What Chris loved most was nature!”
The poster unveiling took place at Camino Real Cinemas in the Camino Real Marketplace in Goleta – the newly announced venue for this year’s festival.
“We couldn’t think of a better subject for this year’s poster than Potter’s Point,” added Kelly. “We know Chris meant so much to the local community and we’re thrilled to honor his life and work in this way.”
The 6th edition of the NatureTrack Film Festival will take place from October 11th to 13th and promises to be the biggest and best yet, with a record number of films submitted from over 30 countries, including world premieres, US premieres and California premieres. The full film program will be announced in late August.
Notable sponsors of this year’s festival include the Natalie Orfalea Foundation, Yardi, UCLA Health, El Rancho Marketplace, City of Goleta, Go Goleta, Visit SB, Cox Communications, Santa Barbara Zoo and Mechanics Bank.
Festival staff will be on hand to provide more information about this year’s festival and the NatureTrack Foundation’s recently announced summer screening series at the El Capitan State Campground Amphitheater.
The 6th Annual NatureTack Film Festival will take place October 11-13 and early bird all-access VIP passes are now on sale.
