Pop singer Natasha Bedingfield asked her fans to sing a Lewis Capaldi song with her – to share it on TikTok.

Bedingfield, 42, also dedicated a song to her older brother Daniel Bedingfield, who became famous in 2001 – three years before her.

Wearing a white suit and a blonde bob, Bedingfield got her fans dancing as she performed her big hits “Single” and her UK number one hit “These Words” (both from 2004).

During a performance at Trnsmt on Glasgow Green, she also performed cover songs including “The Scientist” by Coldplay and “Purple Rain” by Prince.

Before singing “Roller Skate,” she dedicated the song to her brother Daniel, saying, “He was always better at roller skating than me.”

Bedingfield told the crowd: “I opened for Lewis Capaldi at the O2 about two years ago. Maybe we could sing a bit of his song and he could write a song for me.”

She held up her phone to record the crowd as she sang Lewis Capaldi’s song “Someone You Loved” and everyone joined in.

Bedingfield ended the set with her song “Unwritten” from her 2004 album of the same name.

She said, “Thank you for doing this for me, it’s all about you.”

During their performance, a man wearing an England football shirt was approached by a group of people who complimented him and said, “Come on, England.”

A group of young female fans had “Belter” tattooed on their arms as a temporary tattoo – a reference to headliner Gerry Cinnamon, who became famous with his hit “She’s a Belter”.

Outside the festival, vendors sold fishing hats with the words “Belter” and others with the words “Tory Scum”.

An older male fan walking through the park wore a kilt and traditional socks – as well as a bucket hat decorated with acid house smileys.

Rick Astley and Gerry Cinnamon will headline on Saturday.
