Chris Jericho thinks John Cena is taking his retirement in his stride

Chris Jericho shares his thoughts on John Cena’s announcement that he will retire from professional wrestling at the end of 2025.

Chris Jericho of All Elite Wrestling was recently a guest at McGuire on Wrestling. When asked about John Cena’s Money in the Bank announcement that he will retire from WWE next year, Jericho joked that his career has lasted longer than Cena’s, but he thought this was a cool way to end his legendary career.

“My career has been longer than John Cena’s,” joked Chris Jericho. “No, I mean, it’s great. John has always loved wrestling and he has a great connection with the fans, so I think it’s a cool way to handle it.”

“People know it is, and John is not the type of guy to say anything lightly. So I’m sure he’s focused on that and worked with the company to make sure it’s right. And I’m sure it’s going to be a really great year and a half for Cena fans and for John Cena himself.”

Although Jericho is pleased with how Cena is handling his retirement, he is not planning a grand farewell of his own. Last year, he told Chris Van Vliet that he would not have a farewell match and planned to simply disappear when the time came.
