Week 8 in UFA had some truly outstanding individual performances, but we’d like to start by pointing out that this is the third week in a row where the week’s EDGE leader wasn’t on the winning team. Should a list highlighting the “best” performances of the week take points or possessions played into account, since players on a losing side often have higher point totals simply because they played more O-points? Maybe, and we’ll show the implications below, but that’s something we’ll consider in the offseason. With that, here are your Week 8 leaders.
- Alex Atkins had the second-highest EDGE total of the season in Colorado’s loss to Minnesota, with just one turnover on 642 throwing yards (including six of six hucks), 888 total yards, eight scores and one block (Table 1). I’m sure it’s no consolation to Atkins that he also had the fourth-highest EDGE of the week in Colorado’s loss to Madison.
