After the recent failures of the MCU, it looks as if the superhero universe is celebrating a roaring comeback with its upcoming projects. As if the Deadpool and Wolverine Hype wasn’t enough, Marvel also dropped the first teaser to Captain America: Brave New WorldThe upcoming 2025 MCU movie has caught fans’ attention after the return of some iconic characters.
Since its announcement, one of the main highlights of Captain America: Brave New World was the strong connectivity to The incredible Hulk. It was announced that Tim Blake Nelson will return as the iconic Hulk villain in the 2025 film. Although we didn’t get a clear shot of Leader in the latest teaser, it took no time for eagle-eyed fans to catch his glimpses and even dialogue.
Looks like the leader is the biggest villain in Marvel’s Captain America 4
The Captain America The trilogy starring Chris Evans continues to spark debate among Marvel fans due to its sophisticated action and mature storylines. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is considered one of the most popular films in the universe. While it seemed difficult for Anthony Mackie to pull off a similar feat in his upcoming MCU appearance, the teaser proves that we may be getting another blockbuster.
After it became known that Captain America: Brave New World will feature the return of Tim Blake Nelson’s Samuel Sterns aka Leader, Many fans were curious to see how he would be portrayed in the film. When the teaser was released, we couldn’t clearly see one of Marvel’s most intelligent enemies, but exactly at 1:04 we can see Sterns standing in front of a window and his voiceover says: “The global balance of power is shifting. You are just a chess piece.”
Just seconds after the dialogue about global power, we could see a pair of green hands holding a camera to capture the chaos probably caused by Isaiah Bradley. The last time we saw Sterns, he was Mr. Blue in Edward Norton’s The incredible Hulk. In the final scene of the 2008 film, we saw Hulk’s gamma-irradiated blood seep into a cut on his forehead while he had a grin on his face, foreshadowing the arrival of Hulk’s greatest nemesis.
In the comics, Samuel Stern’s transformation gave him extraordinary intelligence and expertise in physics, genetics, and robotics. With his enhanced mind, he is even stronger than our beloved Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. It’s clear from the teaser that what Carl Lumbley’s character was planning to do to Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus Ross didn’t seem natural. The Leader is likely the big villain and the cause of everything that happens in the film.
Fans can’t wait to see Leader in the MCU
With the serious tone, the geopolitical tension, the Samuel Sterns reference and a brief glimpse of Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk, Captain America 4 looks like a complete package. But one of the main attractions of the Julius Onah-directed film is undoubtedly the arrival of the leader. Soon after fans noticed his allusions in the teaser, they entered X to express their excitement.

Theory: Red Hulk is the supporting villain, while The Leader is the main villain and the hidden threat. After all, he’s been overdue since that teaser in the 2008 Hulk movie.

There is no denying that the presence of so many Hulk characters and extensive reshoots have raised doubts about the project among fans. But call it a better marketing technique or the true potential of the film, the teaser has generated significant interest in the project. Now it will be interesting to see if Captain America: Brave New World can build on the standards of the previous films in the series.
