Texans player Will Anderson Jr. looks forward to “going to war” with Danielle Hunter

The Texans’ defensive line suffered a major setback when free agency began, as their top pass rusher Jonathan Greenard signed a four-year deal with the Vikings worth a total of $72 million. However, things were going well for the franchise and Houston didn’t have to wait long to find a replacement. Three days later, the Texans signed Danielle Hunter for two years and $49 million. A four-time Pro Bowler with 87.5 career sacks, he is considered an improvement over Greenard and at the Vikings’ expense.

Now, Hunter will start at the outside position alongside Will Anderson Jr., the second-year lineman who just won Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. There won’t be more than a handful of starting positions in the league next season that strike more fear into opposing quarterbacks. For his part, Anderson says he’s excited to get out there and “create chaos” with Hunter, according to Pro Football Talk.

“Anderson said Hunter was ‘incredible’, saying he has ‘taught us so much’ what he has learned since entering the league in 2015, and that working with him this offseason has piqued his interest in what will happen in the fall. It will be fun,” Anderson said. “I think we will be able to cause a lot of chaos. I’m excited to go to war with him.”

Anderson will learn a lot from Hunter, but the opposite is also true. Both Hunter and Denico Autry have praised Anderson for his maturity and ability to teach them Houston’s strategy this offseason.
