TV show “Three Women” on Starz: Cancelled or renewed?

(Starz)

Three women will premiere on Starz in September, and the cable network has released a new trailer and poster for the drama based on Lisa Taddeo’s best-selling novel.

The series, starring Shailene Woodley, DeWanda Wise, Betty Gilpin, Gabrielle Creevy, Blair Underwood and John Patrick Amedori, shows the influence that female desire has on three women.

Starz revealed further information about the upcoming series in a press release.

“STARZ today released the trailer and key art for its limited event series, Three Women, which paints a nuanced portrait of female desire through the rivetingly raw and honest stories of three women. The series is based on the #1 New York Times best-selling book of the same name by literary sensation Lisa Taddeo, and will premiere on the STARZ app at midnight on Friday, September 13. It will debut linearly on STARZ at 10 p.m. ET/PT in the U.S.

In the series of the same name, three women embark on a crash course to radically turn their lives around. Lina (Betty Gilpin), a housewife in suburban Indiana, has been living in a passionless marriage for ten years when she begins an affair that quickly consumes and changes her life. Sloane (DeWanda Wise), a glamorous entrepreneur in the Northeast, has a solid open marriage with Richard (Blair Underwood) until two sexy strangers threaten their ambitious love story. Maggie (Gabrielle Creevy), a college student in North Dakota, weathers a violent storm after accusing her married English teacher (Jason Ralph) of an inappropriate relationship. Gia (Shailene Woodley), a writer grieving the loss of her family, persuades each of these three spectacular “normal” women to tell her their stories, and their relationships with them change the course of their lives forever.

Laura Eason (“The Loudest Voice,” “House of Cards”) is the series’ showrunner, and Taddeo, writer of “Three Women” (forthcoming “Animal”), serves as creator and executive producer. Kathy Ciric and Emmy Rossum also serve as executive producers.”
