The Border, an award-winning Russian anti-war solo show, comes to Plummer Park

VR Studios presents The BorderWinner of the Best of The Actors Company Hollywood Fringe 2024 award, will premiere at the West Hollywood Fiesta Hall in Plummer Park, 1166 N Vista Street. Starring Misha Suvorov, performances will run from August 10 through December 21, 2024.

The border is a dramatic poem written in an autofictional style. The action takes place during the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. The main character, a young man from Moscow, is against the war. In order not to become a victim of repression, he is forced to leave the country.

However, his plans are thwarted when he learns that his mother, who lives in a war zone on the border of two countries, has a heart attack. Amid the bombings, the characters are forced to find ways of reconciliation and forgiveness in the midst of war and dictatorship.

The premiere of The border at the Hollywood Fringe Festival proved to be an impressive theatrical event that captivated audiences with its relevance and thematic depth. The show was nominated for the Best of The Actor’s Company HFF24 Award and runs through 2024, presented by the City of West Hollywood and the nonprofit theater company RimoVision Group.

About the artist: Misha Suvorov is a trained actor from Saint Petersburg, Russia. A 2016 graduate of the Sanford Meisner Center and a loyal member of the RimoVision group since 2023, Misha works on stage, television and film.
