Eminem’s song “Temporary” contains old recordings of his daughter Hailie Jade as a toddler

The new album by rap legend Eminem, The death of Slim Shady (Coup de grace), offers a tear-jerking moment. The 19-track LP is the culmination of the 51-year-old rapper’s elimination of his alter ego Slim Shady, as evident from its dramatic title and numerous clues beforehand, a popular magazine reports.

However, part of the album is also dedicated to Eminem’s general feelings on death, especially in the dark track Temporaryfeaturing singer Skylar Grey and footage of his daughter Hailie Jade Scott as a toddler. According to the song’s emotional introduction, it was written to comfort Hailie, now 28, after the death of her father.

“A lot of people ask me if I’m afraid of dying. The truth is, I think what scares me the most is that I won’t be able to tell you all the things I want to tell you when I’m gone,” Eminem reveals at the beginning of the track.

“So this song is for Hailie, for the day that day comes.” According to the popular magazine, old audio recordings of Hailie are woven into the song, while the grammy Winner raps about always being by her side, even though he’s physically gone. “Yeah, so Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song / To help you deal with life now that I’m gone / How do I start? I just want to say / Take care of Alaina, Stevie and Uncle Nate,” he said. “And, honey, be strong, I know I was your rock / And I still am, saying goodbye just ain’t / Never easy, why are you crying? Just stop / Hailie, baby, dry your eyes, this ain’t forever.”
