The 2024 Gastonia Debutante Ball will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Gaston Country Club. 23 young ladies from the community will be presented.

The first Gaston Debutante Club Debutante Ball was held on Friday, June 14, 1957. Over a year of planning and work by a group of women from the community had two goals: to present a select number of young ladies, age 18 and older, to the society and to donate any surplus to charitable organizations. Since then, over 1,163 outstanding young ladies have been presented at 67 balls.

Over the years, more than $117,000 has been donated to organizations including the former Mary Ellen Nelson Center (now Webb Street School), Gaston Comprehensive Day Center, Gaston Skills, Schiele Museum of Natural History, Hospice of Gastonia, Community Foundation of Gaston Country, Gaston Literacy Council, House of Mercy, West Gastonia Boys and Girls Club, Holy Angels, Heart Society of Gaston County, Backpack Weekend Food Program, Gaston County Virus Relief Fund, Least of These Carolinas and Bountiful Blessings.
