Three New Yorkers win gold in the TAKE 5 evening lottery

NEW YORK, NY – The New York Lottery announced today that multiple grand prize winning tickets from the July 11 TAKE 5 evening drawing were sold in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Port Leyden. Each winning ticket is valued at $11,356.50.

The lucky tickets were purchased at Faith Pharmacy in Brooklyn, Lex & 103 in Manhattan and Cliff’s Local Market in Port Leyden. Each location sold one ticket that matched all of the numbers drawn, giving the winners a full share of the grand prize.

In TAKE 5, 39 numbers are selected from a pool of numbers. The draws are televised twice a day and winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prizes, giving lucky ticket holders plenty of time to come forward.

  • Baltimore teenager arrested for fatal stabbing

    BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore police announced the arrest of 18-year-old Brandon Lee Adams Jr. in connection with a fatal stabbing on July 10. The incident occurred on a transit bus in the 4200 block of Frankford Avenue in the Northeast Ward.

    During the altercation, 14-year-old Cortez Lemon was stabbed by Adams. After the incident, Adams was arrested by officers in the 5300 block of Belair Road and taken to the central reception facility.

    Adams was charged with first-degree murder.

    Baltimore, Maryland – Baltimore Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred on a commuter bus in the Northeast District on July 10, 2024. Brandon Lee Adams Jr., 18, of Baltimore, was charged with first-degree murder in the killing of 14-year-old Cortez Lemon.

    The incident occurred during an altercation on a bus traveling through the 4200 block of Frankford Avenue. Adams is accused of fatally stabbing Lemon. Officers arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and found Lemon with life-threatening stab wounds in the 5400 block of Belair Road. Despite immediate medical attention, Lemon was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

    Adams was arrested down the street in the 5300 block of Belair Road and immediately taken to the central detention center. The case has attracted considerable attention and raised concerns about public safety.
