Willmar’s May 2024 building permits have a total value of ,723,167 – West Central Tribune

WILLMAR — The city of Willmar issued a total of 100 building permits, as well as mechanical and plumbing permits, during the month of May. Those permits had a total value of $29,723,167, according to the monthly report on the city’s website.

The permits issued include one issued to Bethesda of Willmar to build a 118-unit apartment building along Willmar Avenue Southeast, adjacent to the current campus. The project value was $25,456,728, and the permit fee was $289,091.69. Bethesda held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project, the West Central Tribune previously reported.

Other permits issued valued at $20,000 or more include the following:

  • A commercial building permit for 1802 22nd St. SW valued at $121,946. Permit was issued to 19th Ave Storage LLC.
  • A permit for re-roofing a building in the 300 block of Becker Avenue Southeast valued at $20,095.
  • A building permit for the remodeling of a building in the 1000 block of Fifth Street Southwest valued at $29,500.
  • A permit for re-roofing a building in the 600 block of Third Street Southeast valued at $22,000.
  • A residential conversion permit and a garage conversion permit for a building in the 3000 block of Eagle Ridge Drive East, each valued at $300,000.
  • A commercial alteration permit for a building located at 1601 Hwy. 12 E. valued at $190,000. The permit was issued to Willmar Ten Investors.
  • A commercial permit for re-roofing of a building located at 2101 15th Ave. NW valued at $2,150,000. The permit was issued to the State of Minnesota Higher Education Board.
  • A permit for re-roofing a building in the 1700 block of Hansen Drive Southwest valued at $20,000.
  • A permit for re-roofing a building in the 2200 block of Richland Drive Southwest valued at $20,797.
  • A permit for re-roofing a building in the 1700 block of 23rd Avenue Southwest valued at $26,000.
  • A commercial alteration permit for a building located at 1690 First St. S. valued at $250,000. The permit was issued to Lake Region Bank.
  • A permit for re-roofing a building in the 200 block of 16th Avenue Northeast valued at $33,115.
  • A building permit for the remodeling of a building in the 800 block of Olaf Avenue Northwest valued at $30,000.

Including the May approvals, Willmar has issued a total of $37,874,877 so far in 2024.
