Who voices the octopus Ambrosius in The Boys?

The young Season 4 really delivered a lot of emotional twists and turns, from Butcher coming to terms with his own mortality to the story of Hughie’s father to the generally awful moods that prevail at Vought International. If we were Senior VP Ashley, we’d be planning our escape from the conglomerate too.

But between these storylines there is also an unusual love story: the love of a water superhero (and excellent swimmer, not to mention) and his girlfriend, an octopus.

Among The Deep’s powers is his ability to communicate with sea creatures, many of whom become his friends and confidants, including Ambrosius. We first meet the octopus in season 3 after an affair between the two, but in season 4 we see The Deep assuring his colleagues that “the octopus” is now finished.

We later see that this is actually not true, as Ambrosius lives in a tank in the back of The Deep’s closet. However, what fans of the series were wondering the most after this interaction was who the voice of Ambrosius is.

The young has no shortage of star power when it comes to its cast, from User image Actor Laz Alonso as mother’s milk for gossip Girl Alumnus Chase Crawford as The Deep. However, nothing could have prepared us for learning who is responsible for the voice of Ambrosius.

If Ambrosius’ voice sounds familiar, it’s probably because you’re hearing the unmistakably silky tones of Tilda Swinton.

Yes, The Tilda Swinton.
