Trinity County suspect arrested near Houston

DAYTON, Texas (KTRE) – A man accused of stealing a deer hunting spot in Trinity County was arrested Tuesday in a city near Houston.

According to Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace’s press release, 40-year-old Brian Taylor Wright was the subject of a manhunt that began after a theft at a deer stand on the Polk-Trinity county line. The June 26 theft was thwarted by sheriff’s office deputies and led to the arrest of an unidentified suspect, but Wright was on the run as of Tuesday.

According to previous reports, Trinity County law enforcement was assisted in the manhunt by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and TDCJ tracking and pack dogs.

Wright was arrested on a warrant issued after the theft from the deer park. He reportedly attempted to steal generators, a tractor, a side-by-side and other items. The warrant was executed by Dayton police in the 300 block of East U.S. 90 at approximately 7:39 p.m. Tuesday.

Wright was charged with theft of property valued at >=$30,000<$150,000, burglary of a habitation, evading arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and fleeing with a vehicle.
