Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle are bringing their joint comedy tour to California for a limited time this winter.

The international film and television stars, who cut their teeth as comedians, will co-headline seven more shows, capitalizing on the success of their recently sold-out European tour. The new leg begins in San Diego on December 1 at the Viejas Arena at the Aztec Bowl. After a stop in Phoenix at the Footprint Center on December 5, Rock and Chappelle will head up the California coast.

The Emmy winners will perform at the Honda Center in Anaheim on December 7, the SAP Center in San Jose on December 10, the Chase Center in San Francisco on December 11 and the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on December 12.

According to Live Nation, they will conclude their limited tour on December 14 at the Acrisure Arena at Greater Palm Springs in Thousand Palms, California.

“Rock and Chappelle, arguably the two greatest stand-up comedians of their generation, are not only comedians but also good friends who express different views while celebrating their mutual respect,” the organizer said in a statement Thursday.

General tickets go on sale Friday on Ticketmaster.com. As usual, no cell phones, cameras or recording devices are allowed at the shows, and attendees must store their devices, including smartwatches, in Yondr bags that will be unlocked at the end of the show, Live Nation said.

In September, the comedy legends performed a joint show at London’s O2 Arena, where they discussed both the spectacular confrontations they had experienced on stage earlier this year and the firestorm Chappelle sparked with his transphobic jokes in his polarizing Netflix special “The Closer.”

Rock, as everyone should forget, was slapped onstage by Oscar winner Will Smith at the Academy Awards in March of last year. Weeks later, while performing with Chappelle at the Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival at the Hollywood Bowl, Chappelle was attacked by a man who was immediately subdued and taken into custody. (The man was later charged with four misdemeanors.)

The incidents became a hot topic for both the “Amsterdam” star and the “Chappelle’s Show” headliner, and both joked about their respective arguments during subsequent performances, although Rock remained fairly tight-lipped about the slap that went viral.

However, during a show in Phoenix in August, Rock told the audience that he turned down the opportunity to host next year’s Oscars because returning to Hollywood’s biggest night would be like returning to a crime scene, he joked. (Rock hosted the awards show in 2005 and 2016.) The Grown Ups star also said he turned down a Super Bowl promotional offer after his slap.
