(NewsNation) – An upscale shoe store in Chicago was raided by local police, recovering over $2 million worth of stolen merchandise.

Cook County police seized $2.4 million worth of stolen merchandise from Flee Club. One of the owners and an employee are now accused of knowingly purchasing stolen merchandise.

Darius Kelly, 44, and Jerry Walker, 50, are accused of knowingly purchasing the stolen goods and selling them to customers. Walker was also charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

During the raids, authorities also seized five firearms, nearly 200 rounds of ammunition and several magazines, according to the sheriff’s office.

Flee Club is known as something of a sneaker hotspot in Chicago. Among the people seen in the store were rappers like Lil Baby and Fabolous – as seen on Flee Club’s Instagram account.

This is not the first incident involving stolen merchandise that the Flee Club has experienced. NewsNation partner WGN reported in October 2023 that over $100,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from the Flee Club.
