According to a report from CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander via Twitter/X, College of Charleston head coach Chris Mack is hiring Furman associate head coach Jeremy Growe to replace Matt McCall on the Cougars’ coaching staff.

McCall announced on Wednesday that he would be leaving the program for personal reasons.

Growe spent 10 seasons at Xavier and became the Musketeers’ director of basketball operations in 2011 when Mack was XU’s head coach. Growe has been at Furman for the past five seasons.

Mack, who grew up in Cincinnati and played at St. Xavier High School before playing for Evansville and XU, was named the Cougars’ new head coach in April. Less than two weeks later, Mack received the commitment from forward Lazar Djokovic, who played for XU as a freshman last season.

Mack replaced Sean Miller as head coach of the Muskies in 2009 when he left for Arizona. Mack has won more games than any other head coach in XU men’s basketball history.
