Taylor Swift’s “Tortured Poets Department” wins US sales again and remains at number 1 overall for the 12th week

There was some uncertainty at the start of the week, but Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department continues its run as America’s No. 1 album.

According to Hits Daily Double, an additional 90,000 copies of the album were sold in the U.S. during the tracking period of July 5-11. Including units from track sales and streams, the album generated 162,500 copies during the tracking period.

Both numbers are considered the best of the week and point to a sixth week at the top of the Billboard Top Album Sales chart and a twelfth week at number one on the overall Billboard 200. While specific sales figures may vary from Billboard, they should ultimately confirm the same results.

After its first full week on the market, Zach Bryan’s “The Great American Bar Scene” will rise to No. 2 on the overall chart with 140,000 copies sold. It actually exceeded the midweek forecast of 130,000 copies, but obviously not enough to dethrone Swift’s release.
