Absolute Batman series confirmed via SDCC merch

For months there have been rumors and leaks about a so-called “Absolute Universe” that Absolute power Event. This is supposedly a parallel, ongoing, shared DC universe, similar to Marvel’s “Ultimate” universes. Free from the constraints of the main continuity, it would offer the creators the opportunity to give the characters a fresh, new twist. DC has so far refused to confirm or deny these rumors.

Before any major announcement at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, DC has announced some of the merchandise they will be selling. Besides the usual clothing and exclusive items, two items stand out. These include a t-shirt featuring the cover of Absolute Batman The front cover features a “Special Edition Foil Cover (6-5/8″ x 10-3/16″) SDCC 2024 Exclusive Absolute Batman Ashcan.” For those who don’t know, an “Ashcan” comic is the first version of a comic created for branding and promotional purposes.

Whether or not this was intended as an official reveal of the title (and by extension the rest of the Absolute series), it certainly seems to confirm it. We will probably only find out more at SDCC, where DC will reveal all of their plans regarding the aftermath of Absolute powerWith so many Bat-titles either coming to an end or being cancelled altogether, it’s sure to be a big event for Batman fans.
