Manning speaks to the Lynchburg Lions Club

The Lynchburg Lions Club held its monthly dinner at the Lions Building in Lynchburg on July 8. After a brought-together meal, the club heard an excellent presentation by Abbigail Manning.

Manning is a 2024 graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School and recently toured parts of Europe with the United States D-Day Band, a band made up of specially selected high school students from across America.

Manning was one of only three flutists selected. The band members met in Washington, DC, to practice and perform for many hours, then traveled to Europe where they performed special concerts at the D-Day celebrations in Normandy.

The Lynchburg Lions Club provided Manning with financial support so she could be part of this historic group. The club congratulates her on her participation and achievement and wishes her well as she begins her music career at Miami University in the fall.
