It’s a haircut we’re sure to be fans of The voice would love to see a comeback (we’d love to hear what his wife Gwen Stefani has to say about that). It’s lovely; the 2003 version of Shelton could pass as the frontman for any band from that era.

Will Blake Shelton return to The voice in the future?

Between running his bar in Nashville and, most importantly, being the best stepdad to Stefani’s three sons, it doesn’t look like Shelton will return as a full-time coach. The voice in the foreseeable future. The job is full-time and there simply aren’t enough hours in the day for the 48-year-old!

“I think the only way to really do this right is to free myself from the obligation to do something like The voice that takes a lot of time,” he explained Access to Hollywood in 2023. “There’s no way around it. If you want to do it and do it right, you have to be 150 percent committed. And I just feel like those days are behind me now. I have a more important job.”

“If they could ever get the original four coaches back together, I might come back for a season, one time,” Shelton admitted. “I would enjoy that… That would be something I would love to do.”

Shelton was an integral part of the inaugural season of The voice alongside fellow coaches Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green. Levine will, of course, return for the highly anticipated 27th season in just a few months!
