Jeremy Clarkson makes hilarious discovery after buying Cotswolds pub on ‘famous dogging site’

Jeremy Clarkson has made an unfortunate discovery after buying a pub in the Cotswolds for £1 million.

The big tour Star, whose Prime Video series Clarkson’s Farm is one of the service’s most streamed TV shows, made the purchase after finding success with his now-famous 1,000-acre Diddly Squat farm and business, which is run by the TV star’s wife, Lisa Hogan.

Clarkson bought the land in 2008 and after the villager who ran the farm retired in 2019, he decided to see if he could run it himself. In July, it was announced that the 64-year-old would expand his empire by taking over rural pub The Windmill in Asthall – a “village pub” on a 2-acre site near Burford.

However, Clarkson openly admitted that the area in Oxfordshire where the film is set is populated by many people who enjoy having sex in semi-secluded public places.

In a video shared on Instagram, Clarkson can be seen holding up a stick outside the pub with a pair of black and pink knickers dangling from the end. He wrote: “Tell me you bought a pub on a dogging site without telling me you bought a pub on a dogging site.”

Clarkson had previously said he was surprised that West Oxfordshire District Council had approved his plans to transform the “famous dog park”, which was “full of dead rats”, into a “fun” village pub.

The TV star predicted that the pub would not open its doors until winter due to a commitment to a young couple who are holding their wedding reception there in the summer and extensive repairs.

He also produces a television series in which he presents his efforts as a pub landlord – very similar Clarkson’s Farm shows his efforts in managing Diddly Squat.

Earlier this year, Clarkson shared behind-the-scenes details of Clarkson’s Farmand revealed how the idea of letting his pigs – a rare breed called Sandy and Black – graze freely ended in disaster.

Clarkson had been warned by real estate agent Charlie Ireland that this would not be as easy a task as he thought: “Pigs need round-the-clock care.”

The TV star learned this the hard way when many piglets died because some of them were accidentally crushed by their mothers. In fact, so many piglets died that the show’s staff were desperate.
