“The Voice” singer Tom Nitti from Central New York performs at the NYS Fair

Central New York native and “The Voice” singer Tom Nitti will perform at the New York State Fair next month.

Nitti will perform on the Chevy Court stage at the NYS Fair on August 29th at 1 p.m. Admission to the concert is included in the price of admission to the fair.

Nitti is a soulful country singer from New Hartford, NY, who was a favorite of judge Reba McEntire on season 24 of “The Voice” last year. He left the NBC singing competition for “personal reasons” after reaching the top 20, choosing to focus on his family.

Nitti, who grew up in an Italian-Puerto Rican family that listened to a wide range of music genres, mixed country with R&B on “The Voice,” singing songs such as Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours),” The Temptations’ “(I Know) I’m Losing You” and Cody Johnson’s “Til You Can’t.”

After graduating from New Hartford Senior High School, he joined the military and served in Afghanistan, where he sustained injuries and was later awarded the Purple Heart. After his military service, Tom followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the police force, becoming a NYS Trooper in 2015. Nitti now trains new Troopers at the New York State Police Academy and performs weekly, including performing the “National Anthem” at official functions, while also raising two children.

More than 35 concerts have been announced for the 2024 NYS Fair program, including 39 national acts.

The 2024 New York State Fair will be held from August 21 to September 2. The fair’s main stages will feature national artists daily, with shows in Chevy Court at 1 and 6 p.m., while the larger Suburban Park will have shows at 8 p.m. (there will be no afternoon shows in Suburban Park this year).
