Star Trek: Prodigy Co-Executive Producer Aaron J. Waltke joined Screen Rant for an exclusive interview with an insight into the Star Trek Tradition of Wonder Season 2. Waltke revealed that one of the ideas being discussed was Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2 was Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) will be integrated into the series for a two-part story arc. Aaron explains why they unfortunately had to abandon this cool idea. Read his quote below:

I think at one point we discussed the possibility of what other universes we could explore. And I think at one point we talked about even bringing in the Kelvin universe, but we just didn’t have time in the episode “Cracked Mirror,” where they go to all the different universes. And we thought, “Oh, what if we bring in this Captain Kirk and have him help them out for a couple of episodes?” It was a cool idea, but it was just a little too much gravy in the stew. I think it would have been fun. But I think it would have detracted from the story we were telling. It would have been the Captain Kirk show for a couple of episodes. Maybe that’s season three, we’ll find out.
