Last year, Nelly Furtado reunited with Justin Timberlake And Timbaland for a song called “Keep Going Up.” Now she has announced her first new album since 2017.

The album is called 7 and will be released on September 20. On Instagram she wrote: “I’ve made 400-500 pieces of music in 4 years. My ADHD doesn’t always allow me to organize my creations methodically, so it’s hard to explain how we chose 14 songs that magically rose to the top of the pile. Phew – they come together just by being in the same collection. 7, a bit like random seashells that may look similar but are not the same at all.”

She added, “But the cool thing is that every time I doubted myself, I saw the number 7 everywhere.”

The first song released from the album is “Corazón,” which is in English and Spanish.

Meanwhile, Nelly tells Extra that she has a song that she would like Taylor Swift to jump on board for a remix. It is produced by Dom Dollaand Nelly remarks: “I think Dom is friends with Travis (Kelce), so let’s get it, let’s make it pop.”

Travis and Taylor were spotted at Dom Dolla’s performance at Coachella in April.

Nelly says she spoke to Taylor at the 2023 MTV VMAs, where Taylor told her she was a fan. Nelly says Extra, “You know, sometimes it’s kind of surreal… I take these long breaks from music… so every time I come back from the woods… I meet other artists and they like my music, like Taylor Swift, it’s kind of like, ‘Oh damn, that’s cool!'” she continued. “‘Really, you sang my song at a party?’ You kind of forget that you’ve been doing it for a while.”
