Loewe opens store in the Marbella Club Hotel

Loewe opens store in the Marbella Club Hotel

Housed in a charming Andalusian-style building with a terracotta tiled roof and stucco facade, the latest Loewe boutique brings Creative Director Jonathan Anderson’s Casa Loewe concept to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean at the Marbella Club Hotel. The opening is the flagship of one of Europe’s most famous beach hotels, which also houses Chanel and Louis Vuitton boutiques on the premises.

This year, the Marbella Club Hotel celebrates its 70th anniversary. It was founded by Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe, whose estate helped transform the humble Spanish fishing village into an international luxury destination. To honor the legacy, Marbella Club owner Jennica Arazi has carefully curated activities throughout the year to showcase the heritage and evolution of the hotel, known as a stylish institution and haven for royalty and celebrities.

Loewe, she says, couldn’t have come at a better time. “With over 170 years of history, Loewe is a true reflection of Spanish heritage while also being a forward-thinking and constantly evolving brand,” Arazi said. “It was only fitting that Loewe finally lands at the Marbella Club to enrich the shopping experience.”

The boutique is designed for leisurely shopping. Set against a backdrop of whitewashed buildings and lush gardens filled with colorful climbing plants, the interior features beamed ceilings, terrazzo floors and handmade ceramic tiles in cream, earthy green and bougainvillea that enhance the artisanal atmosphere. Selected furniture includes George Nakashima’s walnut Conoid Cushion chairs and Gerrit Thomas Rietveld’s angular Utrecht chairs. There is also an outdoor seating area shaded by flower-adorned awnings.

In addition to the permanent boutique at the resort’s entrance, Loewe is collaborating with Marbella Club Hotel to open a pop-up greenhouse at the property’s newly opened Finca Ana María, 12 hectares of lush gardens adjacent to the main building. As part of its 70th anniversary, the hotel acquired land to enrich its natural landscape. “Finca Ana María represents the future growth of Marbella Club and embodies the true luxury of the hotel – our lush garden ecosystem,” said Arazi.

The ‘Finca’ (the estate) that once belonged to Marbella Club guests is available for guests to experience and explore for the first time. Loewe’s Victorian-style greenhouse will be on display until September, providing an interactive environment to showcase the brand’s botanical rainbow line, with nine iconic fragrance families inspired by nature, as well as botanical home fragrances that capture the essence of a garden.

Arazi says the Loewe Greenhouse is a seamless collaboration. “The finca grows 300 varieties of vegetables and herbs, including over 100 varieties of tomatoes, a key element of Loewe’s home fragrances. We have so much in common and we are here to celebrate the great things that connect us with nature.” Together, Loewe and Marbella Club will offer guests interactive experiences in the greenhouse, including flower arranging classes and more.

As the hotel celebrates its 70th anniversary, the site serves as an interactive platform for activities based on Marbella Club’s core values: gastronomy, art and culture, and holistic wellbeing.
