Nelly Furtado wants to collaborate with Taylor Swift: “I Have a Song”

Nelly Furtado just hinted that she has a collaboration idea with Taylor Swift that will undoubtedly have many fans begging, “Give it to me.”

But before anyone gets too upset, the 45-year-old singer-songwriter has clarified that the “Anti-Hero” musician hasn’t even heard the pitch yet, although she has an idea how to make it happen. “I have a song for Taylor,” Furtado said in an interview with Extra Thursday (July 11) before mentioning her connection to Swift’s boyfriend. “Dom Dolla produced it… I think Dom is friends with Travis (Kelce), so let’s rock it. We want Taylor on it!”

The subject of Swift first came up when Furtado was asked about a viral moment at the VMAs last year. In a clip from the awards show posted to her TikTok, Swift raves about how she just “screamed” along to Furtado’s 2001 hit “I’m Like a Bird.”

“Versatility, dude, you can do anything!” the 34-year-old pop star added at the time, to which Furtado replied: “Every time you write another great song, I think, ‘She did it again!'”

Looking back on the moment, the “Promiscuous Girl” musician told the outlet, “It’s kind of surreal to me.”

“I take these long breaks from music and sometimes I feel like a music librarian trapped in a pop star’s body,” she added. “And I meet other artists and they like my music, like Taylor Swift. It’s kind of like they’re like, ‘Oh, damn, that’s cool. Oh, really? You sang my song at a party? That’s amazing.'”

The interview comes one day before Furtado’s new single “Corazón”, which features Bomba Estéreo, is released. The track follows “Gala y Dalí” in March with Juanes and “Love Bites” in May with Tove Lo and SG Lewis.

Swift has now been at the top of the Billboard 200 for almost three months since she The “Tortured Poets” section In April.
