Insights into the life of “Night Caller” star Suzanne Packer – from famous brother to ex-husband

Suzanne Packer plays friendly café worker Rosa in Channel 5’s dark drama The Night Caller, which has been keeping viewers glued to their screens since its premiere on Sunday evening.

The Welsh actress stars alongside Robert Glenister, who plays Tony, a lonely taxi driver whose growing, unhealthy obsession with a late-night radio talk show host has dangerous consequences.

Suzanne, 61, has appeared in several gripping dramas over the years, from The Pembrokeshire Murders To In my skin, And Believe. She is probably best known for her role as Tess Bateman in the BBC medical drama Accidenta role she held for 11 years from 2003 to 2015. Suzanne’s famous brother Colin Jackson

Suzanne is not the only famous face in her family. Her younger brother is sports star Colin Jackson, CBE. The former sprinter and hurdler became a household name after winning a silver medal at the 1988 Olympic Games.

During his impressive sporting career, Colin became World Champion twice, Commonwealth Champion twice and European Champion four times. He also set the world record in the 110m hurdles in 1993.

Colin, 57, has not only risen to fame through his sporting career, but has also made a name for himself in show business. After retiring from athletics, he worked as a sports commentator and pundit for the BBC before signing up for the third series of Strictly Come Dancing, finishing second with his dance partner Erin Boag. He recently appeared in the celebrity cast of Dancing on Ice in 2021, finishing third in the competition.

Suzanne and Colin have a close bond

In 2003, when Suzanne played the lead role in Accidentshe revealed the advantages of being Colin’s sister.

When asked if being the athlete’s sister had helped her acting career, she told the BBC: “Being Colin Jackson’s sister hasn’t helped me at all in my career so far. However, there is a nice advantage to being his sister.” He is on the A-list and sometimes he takes me to his A-list events.”

Suzanne is best known for her leading role in Casualty.

In 2018, the siblings teamed up to host the Sunday Morning Show on BBC Radio Wales.

Suzanne spoke about her close bond with her brother when her show was first announced. “Colin and I live around the corner from each other and we are really closeso I want the show to sound like we’re just sitting together and gossiping a little bit,” she said.

Suzanne’s famous ex-husband and love life

Suzanne tends to keep her personal life out of the spotlight, so her current relationship status is unknown.

However, from 1997 to 2004 she was married to the American actor Jesse Newman. The couple is said to have a son together named Paris.
