Courtney Taylor joins Maggie Q in Amazon’s Renée Ballard series

Courtney Taylor stars as a series regular alongside Maggie Q in Prime Video’s untitled Renee Ballard series, a Bosch spin off.

The Untitled Renée Ballard series follows Detective Renée Ballard (Q), who takes charge of the LAPD’s new Cold Case Division – a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the highest caseload in the city. Ballard tackles these cases frozen in time with compassion and determination. When her investigation uncovers a larger conspiracy, she must rely on the help of her retired ally Harry Bosch to overcome the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life.

Taylor plays Samira Parker, a cautious, impulsive and tough woman with a burning desire for justice. When Samira was growing up, almost everyone she knew had a healthy distrust of the police, but her grandfather, who Samira looked up to as a child, was a police officer and believed in using his police badge to protect and support his community. Being a police officer today, however, is a very different challenge than it was then.

Five years after leaving the police force, Samira’s former mentor Renee Ballard (Q) convinces her to return to the LAPD’s Cold Case Unit. There, she works to right the wrongs of the past and bring peace to the families and victims. In the process, Samira slowly regains her own sense of justice.

Q’s Renée Ballard character will be seen for the first time in the third season finale of another Bosch spin off, Bosch: Legacybefore headlining her own series.
