Netflix gives first look at the cast of “The Thursday Murder Club”

Netflix has released a first look photo of The Thursday Murder Club Cast to confirm start of production.

Richard Osman’s popular book series is brought to the big screen, with an all-star cast including Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Sir Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie.

In the first photo, the four main actors are seen dressed in their roles, gathered around Osman in what looks like the set of the nursing home’s playroom – where the characters meet every Thursday to solve cases.

Bridget Jones And The best exotic Marigold Hotel Star Celia Imrie will play the role of Joyce. Mirren will play former spy Elizabeth alongside Pierce Brosnan as union official Ron and Sir Ben Kingsley as psychiatrist Ibrahim.

“The Thursday Murder Club is officially in production!” is the caption of the tweet shared on the official Netflix UK X account.

“Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Sir Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie will star in the film adaptation of @richardosman’s bestselling novel, directed by Chris Columbus.”

The Thursday Murder Club The film’s shooting began on June 27. Osman shared a set photo at the time. However, this is the first time audiences have seen the film’s cast in costumes.

Other cast members include David Tennant, Naomi Ackie, Jonathan Pryce, Richard E. Grant, Danny Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes and Sarah Niles.

We know that Pryce plays Elizabeth’s husband Stephen and that Grant plays a “villain.” Ackie plays Donna and Niles plays Donna’s mother Patrice, but the other roles are being kept secret for now.

Just this week, Osman announced that his wife Ingrid Oliver has also secured a role in the upcoming Netflix film. She will play Joyce’s daughter Joanna.

Share the news about the latest episode of The rest is entertainment In the podcast, Osman said the role was “not my idea… it was Chris Columbus’ idea.”

Lucifer Star Tom Ellis, Geoff Bell and Paul Freeman are three other names linked to the project, although these were announced by Deadline and not Osman himself.

The Thursday Murder Club is the first part of Osman’s crime series, published in 2020. The story follows four pensioners at Coopers Chase Retirement Village in Kent who investigate the murder of a property developer.
