Michigan State Football signs 3-star all-rounder Bryson Williams

A class that had no commitments a few months ago has now grown to 15 as Michigan State football coach Jonathan Smith continues to land reliable recruits.

Before the official visit season began, the Spartans had only five commitments, but in the last month and a half they have received 10 verbal commitments, with the most recent coming from three-star athlete Bryson Williams of St. Mary’s in Orchard Lake, Michigan.

Williams chose Michigan State over Kansas, Pitt and Harvard.

This is one of the coolest engagement videos I can remember. His mom, dad, and younger sibling congratulate him on his decision. It also shows highlights from his youth football days all the way up to his high school video. This is what engagement videos should look like.

Williams is the 15th commitment of the class of 2025 and the third from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, joining three-star linebacker Charles White and three-star tight end Jayden Savoury.

According to Corey Robinson of 247Sports, Michigan State is also recruiting him for the “Deebo Samuel role.”

The three-star from Orchard Lake, Michigan, stands 6’2″ and weighs around 200 pounds, so he has a strong frame to be a Deebo player. He can play in the backfield, as a receiver, on special teams, and play anywhere on the field. Williams will give the offense an extra boost that has been missing for a few years.

Although Michigan State has yet to sign a four-star player in the 2025 class, the quality of players Smith has signed is impressive. In terms of ratings, there is not a single player on 247Sports with a rating below 86 – four-star players are usually around 89. So the consistency in recruiting is there.

Smith is building a strong player base with this class and raising the level of the program.
