Big star calls on WWE to bring back famous event – TJR Wrestling

Another top name wants a premium live event to return.

In October 2018, WWE hosted its first – and so far only – women-only pay-per-view, Evolution. The event was created to capitalize on the “Women’s Revolution” and showcase how far women’s wrestling has come in recent years.

The event featured legends such as Lita and Trish Stratus as well as the biggest stars of the era. In the main event, Ronda Rousey defeated Nikki Bella to defend her Raw Women’s Championship title.

On July 11, WWE launched “What Do You Wanna Talk About” with Cody Rhodes in partnership with Wheatley American Vodka. The first guest on the new YouTube show was Women’s Champion Bayley, who discussed a variety of topics, including the strength of the women’s division in 2024.

During the conversation, Bayley said she would like to see Evolution return to showcase this full roster.

“Yeah. Why not? Like we just said, there are so many women. The first time around, we had so many girls from NXT, but they were able to showcase themselves on a bigger stage. But they had so many women from the past. It’s a little bit like the first few (Royal) Rumbles, a lot of women from the past, because we didn’t have enough women to fill those matches, but now we have enough.

And I think it would be so cool to give everyone on Raw and SmackDown a part of this show, Evolution 2. You can bring girls from NXT. You can bring girls… we just saw Jordynne Grace on NXT, you know, TNA girls, whatever that connection is there. We can bring different girls, and you can bring someone from back in if they feel like it, to do a little something.

But we have such a packed roster right now. Yes, we can pull off a show and other PLEs on our own. And it’s been so many years that we don’t have to do this every year and say, ‘Okay.’ We’ve seen it enough times, but I think it’s time because it’s a different era than it was back then.”

WWE Bad Blood returns

On the eve of Money In The Bank, WWE announced the return of Bad Blood on October 5 in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1997, the event hosted the first-ever Hell In A Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels. The match famously ended with the debut of Kane.

To date, there have only been three Bad Blood events with pay-per-view after the 1997 classic in 2003 and 2004.

Interestingly, the headlining series at every Bad Blood show so far has been a Hell in a Cell match.
