The B-Side – Chris Pine

The B-Side – Chris Pine

Welcome to The B-Side of The Film Stage. Here we talk movie stars! Not the films that made them famous or kept them famous, but those they made in the meantime.

Today we’re talking about the best Chris – Chris Pine of course! Our B-sides include Saturday night in a small town, People like us, The most beautiful hours, Outlaw King, All old knivesAnd Poolman. It’s a jam-packed episode! And it’s just Conor and I having a blast like old times.

Much of the conversation revolves around how charming Pine is. There is also a discussion about the disappointing ending of The most beautiful hourshow about Saturday night in a small town is popular with young filmmakers, the brave beginning of Outlaw Kingthe old-fashioned crackling of All old knives (and this incredible restaurant location) and the lackluster direction of People like us.

Questions are asked such as: Is there anything better than a tired spy? Who is the best Jack Ryan? Why is this Big Daddy Does the clip contain the funniest ADR line in cinema history?

Other topics include Jordan and Dan’s fateful trip to an early screening of User image At the end of 2009, the stark difference (despite career similarities) between Pine and Ryan Reynolds, the incredible show Psychand this pertinent article by Bilge Ebiri about the Argyll publication and why it matters. Finally, Conor and I are trying to understand why people hate the very charming, very Los Angeles Poolman so much. Although there should have been more pool stuff Poolman!

A correction: Safe House came out in 2012, not 2010. We’re sorry!
