When it comes to facing the Boston Celtics in crucial games, veteran Miami Heat star Kevin Love knows more than most people. But the Celtics’ longtime postseason foe has watched that opponent get stronger and stronger over the years until it became the behemoth it is today.
Love spoke to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald about his recent impressions of Boston. “They set the standard in the NBA,” the Heat veteran said of the latest version of the Celtics. “They’re so good. I think they’re the proverbial North Star, if you will.”
“To get better, we all have to get better,” he added. “So obviously I don’t know what that means from a front office decision-making perspective.”

“But I think health played a big role,” Love added, alluding to Miami’s injury-plagued 2023-24 season.
“We don’t want excuses like that. I know (Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra) wouldn’t be happy if I even talked about it. But I think it’s part of it.”
